CleanSystem Pro supplies carbon fiber and aluminum water-fed poles, telescopic poles and solar panel cleaning equipment to distributors, cleaning contractors and OEM buyers sourcing for the market in Japan. Configurations range from 10FT-70FT reach depending on material and application.
Water-Fed Poles and Telescopic Poles
Pole requirements vary by job rather than by a single national specification: window and facade cleaning, pool maintenance, dusting and solar panel access all call for different length, material and tool-head combinations. Carbon fiber poles suit frequent, extended-reach work where weight and stiffness at full extension matter; aluminum poles remain a cost-effective option for routine, lower- and medium-reach work. See our carbon fiber vs aluminum comparison guide for the full decision framework before specifying a model.
Solar Panel Cleaning Equipment
Solar panel cleaning poles, brushes and pure-water systems are configured around the installed array’s access conditions and the module manufacturer’s cleaning instructions, not a generic specification. Confirm brush compatibility and water-delivery requirements for the specific module before ordering — see our solar panel cleaning system guide.
OEM and Private Label Supply
Distributors and cleaning equipment brands in Japan can source customized configurations — pole length, clamp type, finish, tool interface, branding and packaging — through our OEM/ODM program. Our OEM manufacturing guide explains the specification, sample-approval and production-verification steps before a bulk order ships. See our packaging and shipping guide for what to confirm before requesting a freight quotation.
What compliance requirements apply when importing into Japan?
Electrical equipment sold in Japan falls under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act (DENAN / 電気用品安全法), which classifies products into specified and non-specified categories with correspondingly different conformity routes — the PSE mark is applied in a diamond form for specified products and a circular form for others. The notification obligation falls on the importer, who must register with METI as the responsible business operator. This is an importer duty, not something the overseas manufacturer can discharge on your behalf.
Confirm with the supplier which category the specific model falls into and whether the required testing has been performed against the Japanese standard, since conformity to an IEC standard alone does not automatically satisfy DENAN. Japanese-language documentation and labelling is expected for equipment placed on the market.
What power conditions should equipment be specified for in Japan?
Japan’s electrical supply is unusual and deserves specific attention. Mains voltage is 100 V, the lowest of any major market, and the country is split between two grid frequencies: 50 Hz in eastern Japan including Tokyo and Sendai, and 60 Hz in western Japan including Osaka, Nagoya and Hiroshima. Sockets are Type A/B.
This has two practical consequences. First, equipment designed for 220-240 V will not operate on a 100 V supply without a transformer, and a motor sized for 230 V will be substantially underpowered at 100 V even with one. Second, if your customer operates in both halves of the country, a single-frequency motor will not serve both regions — specify dual-frequency (50/60 Hz) equipment, or confirm the deployment region before ordering. Of all the markets covered here, Japan is the one where a European or American specification is least likely to transfer unchanged.
What water conditions apply in Japan?
Japanese municipal water is generally soft by international standards, typically well below the hardness found across much of Europe and the Middle East. This is favourable for pure-water cleaning: DI resin lasts considerably longer for the same purified volume, and running costs are correspondingly lower than a supplier’s figures from a hard-water market would suggest.
Hardness does vary somewhat by region, with supplies in parts of the Kanto plain slightly harder than the national pattern. Request a figure from the local water utility for each operating area, but expect sizing to be less demanding than in Gulf or Mediterranean markets.
How is equipment shipped to Japan?
Sea freight from China is a short route, commonly arriving at Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe or Nagoya, with transit times considerably shorter than to European or American destinations. This makes smaller, more frequent consignments more practical than in long-haul markets, which can reduce the inventory a distributor needs to carry.
Long telescopic poles price on dimensional weight. Where solid wood packaging is used, ISPM 15 treatment and marking applies. See our packaging and shipping guide for what to confirm before requesting a quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Japan have two grid frequencies?
Japan is split between 50 Hz in the east, including Tokyo and Sendai, and 60 Hz in the west, including Osaka, Nagoya and Hiroshima, a division dating from the original generating equipment imported in the nineteenth century. For equipment specification this means a single-frequency motor will not serve both regions, so specify dual-frequency 50/60 Hz equipment or confirm the deployment region before ordering.
Can equipment specified for Europe be used in Japan?
Generally not without reconfiguration. Japan’s mains voltage is 100 V, the lowest of any major market, so equipment designed for 220-240 V will not operate without a transformer, and a motor sized for 230 V will be substantially underpowered at 100 V even with one. Japan is the market where a European or American specification is least likely to transfer unchanged.
Who is responsible for PSE notification when equipment is imported?
The notification obligation under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act falls on the importer, who must register with METI as the responsible business operator. This duty cannot be discharged by the overseas manufacturer on the importer’s behalf. Confirm with the supplier which product category applies and whether testing has been performed against the Japanese standard, since IEC conformity alone does not automatically satisfy DENAN.
Is Japanese water hardness favourable for pure-water cleaning?
Yes. Japanese municipal water is generally soft by international standards, typically well below the hardness found across much of Europe and the Middle East, so DI resin lasts considerably longer for the same purified volume and running costs are lower. Hardness does vary somewhat by region, with parts of the Kanto plain slightly harder, so request a local figure for each operating area.
How long does sea freight from China to Japan take?
Transit times are considerably shorter than to European or American destinations, as the route is short. This makes smaller and more frequent consignments practical, which can reduce the inventory a distributor needs to hold. Confirm the schedule and routing for your specific port — Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe and Nagoya all serve this trade — with your freight forwarder.
